Update on the Ghetto Apartment Complex Next Door
A toy truck and a baby doll have been added to the growing collection of shoes hanging off the power lines in front of the place. I also suspect that the set of party hounds immediately on the other side of the fence may have bugged out, as I haven't heard any of their music or loud parties lately. Whether these are the ones who left a half-consumed can of beer inside my mailbox and took a dump in my recycling bin, I don't know. I hope so. Yes, I know what they say: "Better the enemy you know than the enemy you don't." I'm not sure if that applies anymore when the enemy is shitting on your figurative doorstep.
Note as well, the pile of junk on the corner. Yesterday I thought it might have been left for the ARC donations truck, but today it's still there, albeit ransacked by the locals, stuff scattered all over. The ones who moved away must have just left it.
Once again, I give thanks for the 300' (91 meters) long, 6' (1.8 meters) high wooden fence on that side of the property, which my older brother has been helping me keep in good repair. And thanks to my late father who erected the chain link fence that completely surrrounds this place without a single break, meeting up with the wooden fence. And all those lovely, luxurious trees and bushes Dad planted that grew up and together to create a barrier, at least visually isolating me from my lovely come n' go neighbors with their trash and turds and such.
